I am a fashion and style addict. I find joy in constantly experimenting with my own style, discovering new designers, and ultimately projecting my own unique persona via fabrics, textures, and colors. I see fashion as a opportunity to engage in a personal creative process. It is fun, experimental, and empowering. Feeling good about your appearance can be transformative. Developing a personal style is a skill and with a little guidance, can be mastered and shared with the world.
With my company, I am sharing my passion and experience as a former boutique owner, buyer, worldwide shopper, and avid researcher with people who are lost in the ever changing world of fashion.

STYLE GUIDANCE// In my experience, when it comes to fashion and style, most people have a problem interpreting trends and incorporating those trends into their personality and existing wardrobe. Some trends are here today, gone tomorrow (those are usually the ones to avoid) and some evolve into wardrobe staples (think ballet flats or boyfriend blazers). No matter what, it is always best to shop for and fill your closet with pieces that are timeless and chic - a figure flattering black dress, tailored jackets and trousers, etc. and accent with pieces that are on-trend. In general, it is best to avoid the following (this is not a complete list!): * anything with excessive volume (this swallows you up and is hard to wear) * too much embellishment on clothing such as sequins, ruffles, bows, etc. (we aren't Barbie dolls or 7 year olds!) * overly distressed items such as jeans (just think Britany...) * skirts, shorts, dresses that are too mini - this is a cute trend but there is a fine line between sexy and trashy. * too much color - I know this can be a personal preference but in general a pop of color is always more chic and flattering than looking like a rainbow. * combining cropped pieces - a cropped jacket is great with a knee length skirt or straight leg pant, but a cropped jacket and cropped pants will make you look bigger and squashed * combining over-sized pieces - you don't want to look like you're dressing up in a costume!
WARDROBE MAKEOVER// The mission here is to get rid of pieces that are too trendy and not wearable, fit poorly, duplicates, or anything you haven't worn in a year. To help with this, I suggest that every closet must have.... * classic tailored white oxford blouse * dark wash straight leg denim/ black and white denim * black dress that can transition from office to date to party * trench coat * cardigan sweaters * tailored black wool-blend blazer * pant suit in color other than black (gray, brown, navy) * leather jacket - black or neutral or both * black flat front trousers * neutral colored jacket * black pumps and flats * knee high boots with lowish heel * cocktail dress in a jewel tone * pencil or a-line skirt that falls just above the knee * well-made tees in different colors for layering * accessories (scarves, necklaces of different lengths for layering, cuff bracelet, hoop earrings)
